The objective of the charity is to support research into less common or rare conditions that are life limiting. We are initially concentrating on two conditions that are among the less common, namely Cholangiocarcinoma, cancer of the bile duct and Hydrocephalus, a build up of fluid on the brain. Cholangiocarcinoma can be treated if diagnosed early, but diagnosis is difficult so we will support work to identify methods for early diagnosis. For Hydrocephalus we wish to concentrate initially on the condition in its ante natal form which claims the lives of many children each year.As a family we have seen the effects of both conditions. My wife Alane died as a result of Cholangiocarcinoma and some years ago one of our children, James, died before his third birthday as a result of Hydrocephalus which had developed before birth.If you or someone you know would like to help us by fundraising in any way please do get in touch.
