At the core of our human experience lies the fascinating intersection of language and communication. Throughout history, these two fundamental aspects have propelled us forward, enabling the development of art, culture, science, technology, and medicine. Through language, we have been able to elucidate complex concepts and enhance our society. Today, we find ourselves on the brink of comprehending and appreciating a different kind of language—the intricate communication occurring within our cells, orchestrating the maintenance of homeostasis.During my undergraduate research, I delved into the realm of pharmacology, investigating how blood vessels communicate with their microenvironment to remodel in the context of peripheral artery disease. Now, as a fourth-year Ph.D. student, I am leveraging the power of next-generation sequencing and employing vascularized organ-on-a-chip models to decipher the mechanisms behind cell-cell communication in tissue-specific environments. I strive to discern the disruptions caused by diseases and unravel the hidden language of our cells. As a scientist, engineer, and bioinformatician, my ultimate goal is to unlock the secrets of cellular language and communication, paving the way for a new era in human health. By comprehending the intricacies of this dialogue, I am driven to make meaningful contributions that will transform our understanding of diseases and revolutionize healthcare.
