Author of critically acclaimed children's books, including the Hero's Guide series ("The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom," "The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle," "The Hero's Guide to Being an Outlaw") and A Perilous Journey of Danger & Mayhem ("A Dastardly Plot," "The Treacherous Seas," The Final Gambit"). My next middle grade novel, "No One Leaves the Castle," will be published in Summer 2023. In my capacity as a kid-lit author, I regularly perform presentations to students at schools and have conducted writing workshops for both children and adults, during which I teach the writing process I developed and use in the creation my own books.

Authored heavily-researched parenting manual, Pop Culture: The Sane Man's Guide to the Insane World of New Fatherhood (Penguin, 2006), for which I interviewed over 50 fathers. Wrote the picture book, This Is Not That Kind of Book (Random House, 2019), which, among other raves, received a starred review from School Library Journal.

Wrote and/or edited hundreds of video game reviews.
