This includes all aspects from technical Implementation, Troubleshooting of their daily problems, conducting training sessions and workshops on our IQ Performance product as well as liaising internally with the Sales, Implementation, Product Management, Engineering, and Finance teams.Next to Display and Video advertising for our Agency and Direct Clients, we also cover Social Implementations with Facebook, YouTube & Twitter and the Programmatic space with our DSP trader tool called IQPA.

My responsibilities as a Technical Account Manager include daily support in technical matters for our clients as well as setting up new migrations and being involved in projects. Smart AdServer, as one of the few holistic technology providers, offers every aspect of modern Ad serving. Having had a very strong skillset of Display and Video Advertisement from my previous employments already, I am now constantly improving my understanding of the Mobile and Real Time Bidding sectors as well.As a Technical Account Manager, my job involves providing prospects with demos and showcases of our products, tailored to their needs after a first set up call. In the next stage, it is my responsibility to start a migration and set up the client’s network in a way most fitting their business needs. Additionally, I am in direct contact with the developers and technicians on their side to ensure a smooth integration of our Tags and Libraries into their websites across all channels such as Display, Mobile, Video and RTB.Next to migrations and projects for new clients, I am also helping out our Service Team with solving the daily amount of Support tickets. This involves troubleshooting malfunctioning ads from campaigns or problems on a website by investigating the HTML & JavaScript code using Consoles and Web Debugging Tools. I am also troubleshooting Mobile Web and Mobile App SDK issues and Video related problems. Setting up and maintaining an efficient and revenue-optimized RTB Marketplace setup for our clients rounds up the daily tasks.Part of my role is also to make sure that Smart, as a technology provider, has the best connections with other, more specialized, technology providers. This includes the setup of various video players, as well as the integration of DMP and DSP companies.

I decided to invest some time traveling after having worked for AOL/ADTECH in the past 4 years. Being on the road long term enabled me to see and judge matters from different perspectives and widen my horizon. I also had to constantly re-evaluate and change plans I had made before. The ability to be flexible and open to new challenges on a daily basis is not only helping me to get from one place to another; it also transitions into my working life and allows me to complete tasks in the most efficient way.

As a Solutions Consultant, I am in charge of over 20 dedicated clients in the UK and Ireland, understanding and improving their online advertisement strategies using display, video, mobile, rich media and other formats. I provide a daily pro-active support and meet up with my clients on a regular basis to present new technologies and discuss any issues they might have, maintaining a close relationship.Further responsibilities include working on projects & migrations for existing clients and helping our Sales team with my technical knowledge in pitches for new clients. I am also spotting potential revenue gains by up-selling new products/technologies.Over the years, I developed a very good understanding of video & audio advertisement around the IAB standards (VAST, VPAID, VMAP) and developed into the video expert within ADTECH, assisting my colleagues around the globe and providing test & demo pages based on various video players. As a result, I am also deeply involved with our Product Management team to improve both our internal video solution and also help integrating AOL's recent acquisition in the programmatic video space, Adap.tvAd Viewability / Visibility is another topic I devoted a lot of my time into by holding a workshop in London and conducting an audit for one of our biggest publishers to demonstrate the performance of their ad placements and provide recommendations on how to improve their visibility rate. I created an excel-based template, which will help my colleagues to do the same for their clients in a very time efficient way.My technical background helps me a lot to quickly understand and work on new upcoming technologies and I also really enjoy the commercial part of my role as well. I stay on track with the industry by attending IAB events in the UK and meeting up with several vendors providing solutions in online advertisement, especially in the Video segment.

I started to work for ADTECH based in their headquarters in Dreiech, Germany and had a brilliant team that quickly got me up to speed with all the online marketing terms and technologies. Being an IT guy for a few years already certainly helped me to dive into basic Ad serving technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and Flash. My job was to help out our clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on a daily basis in the Support team. Getting familiar with standard Display Advertising, I soon after learned more about Mobile and Video as well.Everything around IAB’s standard VAST interested me the most though and I started to set up test pages for various video players and gathered a strong knowledge in Video advertising. At the same time, I kept on improving my knowledge on Display and Mobile as well and started to conduct first on-site Customer Trainings just about three months after joining ADTECH. The direct contact with client was something I always appreciated in my previous roles and I loved the diverse and complex topics I was now faced with for each different client.ADTECH was very supportive in my wish to work abroad and I was eventually transferred to the London Office in the Summer of 2012. My job remained the same, but I was faced with a complete new environment and a new set of clients as well. With that came new challenges and a constant desire to improve my understanding of Adserving technologies, providing the best possible support for my clients. I was now also in the position to attend meetings and seminars of the IAB and various third party vendors in London. Given the fact that I specialised in Video, I focused on video players such as Brightcove, Ooyala and Kaltura.
