As a board-certified emergency medicine physician with 18 years of experience, I have a passion for providing high quality care to patients in urgent and critical situations. I have worked with multidisciplinary teams across various medical specialties and settings, and have acquired valuable skills in electronic health records, quality, patient safety, and healthcare management. For the past 14 years, I have also served in various administrative and leadership roles, including emergency department medical director, hospital medical director, county EMS medical director, chief of the medical staff, and hospital board member. In these roles, I have contributed to the strategic planning, financial stewardship, policy development, and accreditation of the hospitals I have worked with. I have been the executive medical director of physician performance at Sparrow Health System, a 5-hospital healthcare system with nearly 1,800 providers. In this role I was responsible for overseeing the credentialing and quality assurance of the medical staff, as well as leading the improvement of complex medical and administrative issues. I currently practice clinical emergency medicine at Sparrow Clinton Hospital. I am driven by a mission to enhance the performance, safety, and satisfaction of the physicians and the patients they serve. I have a strong track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders, using data-driven approaches, and functioning effectively in high-stress, high-stakes environments.
