As Project Manager, I lead an environmental monitoring team of over 100 specialist scientists and engineers assessing the environmental impact of dredging operations on the Darwin marine environment. As part of the $38b Ichthys LNG Development, Cardno were engaged by INPEX to develop and implement the nearshore marine environmental monitoring program to assess potential environmental impacts arising from the dredging and disposal activities in the nearshore development area of Darwin Harbour.

As a Senior Environmental Scientist within Aurecon’s water sector business, I managed a number of projects including client commissions to achieve project objectives in terms of time, quality and cost. During my time with Aurecon I established several new client relationships, and built on existing relationships. I provided technical input on environmental issues, as well as preparing and reviewing complex technical and project reports.My responsibilities involved work on a number of key projects including Tillegra Dam Planning and Environmental Assessment; Adelaide Desalination Plant EIS - Marine Hydrodynamics and Environmental Impacts; Port Geographe Water Quality Technical Review; North West Growth Centre Independent verification for reservoir and pipeline works; and Evans Head Ocean Release Investigation.Whilst at Aurecon a highlight was presenting at the International Water Association – Young Water Professionals conference in Pretoria, South Africa. The presentation, The Balance Between Water Security and Environmental Sustainability, focused on some of the current challenges faced by water resource planners in providing secure water supply.
