Implementing a migration to Microsoft Fabric infrastructure, covering process mapping, ETL and BI report design and upskilling stakeholders to the new platform.
Leeds, United Kingdom
Providing a range of reporting and analytical services to business and executive teams. Using a variery of software, primarily Excel and PowerBI for day to day work. Alteryx and SQL used for project work and automation of reporting.
Leeds
At Precima I was part of a small team implanted in Morrisons’ head office, using a variety of analytical tools to support buyers across the business in making data led decisions. Relationships with buyers were cultivated which allowed us to understand their everyday needs and frustrations, and to support them in these areas. We also identified ‘power users’ to champion the software for the wider business. Initial support was manually generated Retail Link sales data, obtained using SQL, and presented in Excel and Tableau.Upon launch of the tools, I supported implementation of Precima's ‘Range Tool’; proprietary software which provided a large volume of detailed product and customer data; generated based on loyalty card history. Buyers were supported in making use of this, including integrating the insights into their range change critical path and decision-making points. We achieved a very high success rate with all grocery buyers using insights in their category work within 6 months of launch. My experience in retail analytics combined with my ability to communicate with a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical, were my greatest strengths in this role. The project was a great success with many users becoming advocates which further supported adoption in the wider business.
Asda
This small team support Asda's 80 Merchandisers: investigating and resolving technical problems, reporting using SQL and MS Access, and leading cross-functional work to improve systems and business process. I also took on a role in Asda’s Academy, training others in the more advanced uses of MS Excel.I supported the implementation of JDA systems, managing the 'Assortment Optimiser' workstream, which required detailed process maps, software UAT, and training for users across the business. During this time I also identified business needs and project managed solutions. Most significantly the 'RCCS & Board Report', a legacy report used across the business which was at that time prone to errors. I created a business case and engaged ISD to develop a solution. This required regular reporting to senior directors and communication across the business.
Leeds
I founded and developed Asda’s ‘Assortment Planning’ team which resulted in the recruitment of a team of 10 new colleagues. A range of data sources were combined to generate a total market value for every product in a given category, applying the principle of ‘Market Coverage’ to highlight range gaps and optimise modular deployment. Working with data from Retail Link, Nielsen, Kantar, and IRI we produced forecast & 'coverage' recommendations, presented across the business.
