Building relationships with guests and assisting them in learning how to get a better nights sleep. Demonstrating all options to provide the best nights sleep. This includes educating guests on current sleep technologies, power bases, support systems. Help our guests understand how much of our lives are directly affected by our sleep, from how we interact with people to how we drive our cars.

Training to receive emergency communications and dispatch Idaho State Troopers as needed. Accessing NCIC-NLETS in order to run traffic stops and assist troopers in collecting information to keep them safe and arrest anyone with warrants that are stopped.

Idaho Correctional Center

My first 2 years were spent as a correctional officer in any housing unit I was assigned to in order to maintain the security of the facility. I then began working Master Control, taking incoming phone calls, directing radio communications, and controlling movement throughout the facility. I ran the ILD (Inmate Labor Detail) for 2 years supervising inmate work crews mowing lawns, plowing snow, repairing sprinklers or any other grounds crew related jobs we may be tasked with. My final 2 years at the Idaho Correctional Center were spent as a Warehouse Supervisor, supervising inmates working the print shop, and ordering supplies for the entire facility. I was required to maintain a certain level of supplies and had a budget to stay within in regards to reordering supplies before they ran out. Supplies I was in charge of order included office supplies, chemicals, toilet paper, indigent hygiene supplies, etc.

Assist adults with disabilities in their daily job duties. This would include assisting an adult with ADD stay on task, or someone with another mental disability maintain their job as a hotel maid. The jobsites varied day to day and the clients were even more various.

I started my time in the US Coast Guard as a Seaman aboard the USCGC Midgett (WHEC 726) out of Seattle, WA. I then went to Operations Specialist "A" School in Petaluma, CA. There I learned how to operate a marine radio, plan and conduct search and rescue operations, calculate oceanic drift currents, create movement boards for navigation. After "A" School, I was stationed at USCG Group Ohio Valley, in Louisville, KY. It was there that we stood down the unit, and commissioned USCG Sector Ohio Valley. This made me a Plank-owner in the new unit. While I was there, I was a Communication Watch Officer. I was in charge of monitoring radio high level sites for more than 9,000 miles of federally navigable river system. I would dispatch local authorities to any incident that the US Coast Guard could not directly get to. Incidents would vary, such as people in the water, vessels adrift, barges adrift, allisions with bridges (water based collision), chemical spills, etc. I was discharged in 2007 honorably when my enlistment was up.
