Instrumental in developing a therapeutic environment for children and young people leaving secure accommodation and post-secure planning for young people with learning disabilities. Was also the child protection co-coordinator and children’s rights officer for the site.

Supported by an EU and Richmond Fellowship grant to develop training programmes for child care practitioners in Uruguay working with young people with both Learning and Mental Health needs, and the development of a regional training group to establish a child protection strategy for children placed in detention. This group continues to exist as an advisory group to regional governments in the southern cone of Latin America, although the remit has now been widened to include adults.
