Expanded responsibility across all News UK titles, managing a cost base in excess of £70m. Key stakeholders at director and C suite level across marketing and finance. A part of all keey decision making across the marketing and sales departments and lead on the 3 year business plan.

Subscriptions and the launch of the Sun paywall/paid digital offer was the focus during this period. Driving acquisition sales and understanding the churn and decay profiles of our target segments. Marketing effectiveness and value for money was also a primary concern.

An embedded business facing role within Marketing, Sales and New Business. Focus on driving profitable new business ideas, ensuring marketing effectiveness and giving insight into sales performance whilst driving efficiencies across processes and reporting and developing the junior team members.

Commercial business facing role providing support to the Electricals division (c£1bn Sales) and the Central Marketing function (c£40m annual spend), on Buying & Brand initiated Capital projects (<£100k up to multimillion £ projects) and on Supplier Rebates (c£80m annually).

A business partnering role leading on the sales and margin forecast (£3.2bn annually) providing full finance support to the Home division (£1.1bn Sales annually), the Central Merchandising function (focusing on stock, markdowns & shrink); with full responsibility for analysing Direct Product Profitability.

A FP&A role, covering all UK reporting (c£80m Sales, 90 stores), budgeting of all non-sales and margin costs (c£40m costs), quarterly forecasting of the full P&L, investment appraisal of new stores, finance support for senior retail stakeholders with responsibility for proactively finding opportunities for cost saving.
