Profile bio

About Christopher Hudson

After graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I continued in the fields of security and hospitality. In January, 2011, I began working for the Public Service. For most of that time, I provided professional client services as an assistant chef/head server to Justices of the Supreme Court of Canada This followed many years of hospitality experience, where I followed organizational policies, and built on communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills. The Executive Chef and I were so effective to in improving the quality of food and service, that we became a huge point of pride for the Court. In 2016, in appreciation, the Justice’s honoured us by arranging for a special group photo, and we were also finalists, in the team category for the annual Registrar’s Award. My background in hospitality masks how deeply prepared I am for the office environment. Skills of prioritizing, recipe development, procedural tracking for S.O.P.s, researching, vetting, purchasing, storing and distributing of supplies, all while using the culinary concept of ‘mise-en-place’ as my guiding post, have become especially important to me.Beginning in January, 2020, I chose to concentrate on office assignments at the Court in order to secure an administrative, clerical, and/or program managing position. I am enjoying this immensely. It has built a resilience that comes with a growth mindset during so many learning exercises.Much of my time was spent as an acting CR-05 administrator in the Print Shop/Mail Room of the Court, where I planned and coordinated multiple interrelated administrative activities, advised clients on policies and available options using all manner of correspondence, especially Outlook, and made follow-ups to close the loop. I tracked tasks, then designed and submitted many standard operating procedures and glossaries of terms for the purposes of improving efficiency. I am especially proud of having investigated procedural options in preparation of the digitization and uploading of sensitive files to GCDocs while working as an assistant in Human Resources.I embrace the opportunities to excel in any task I am presented with; discovering efficiencies, proactively solving problems that arise, providing project proposals and administrative support to your managers. I have developed my own ‘on-boarding’ Excel spreadsheet book that enables me to ‘hit the ground running’.I am ready to make a difference! An updated résumé has been uploaded to my profile page.Very sincerely,Christopher Hudson
