This position was a 6 month university work placement, while in this position it enabled me to;• Have an insight in how the IT sector operates.• Drive my development by means of a weekly journal on task and activities that I was involved in.• Develop some transferable skills that I could use in my remaining years of my degree as well as my career, some of these included, project management, collaboration, problem solving and time management.• Aside from my role as an IT Business Support Consultant at Contemi I was given the opportunity to work with the networking and security team to broaden my knowledge on how the academic skills that I was learning at university were used in the IT sector in live systems.• Have the opportunity to join a number of conferences within the business where technical system changes and new technologies were being implemented into the business.

Within this role I managed all operational IT equipment within the Lichfield site and reported directly to the IT manager, this role enabled me to;• Expand my knowledge of operation IT systems.• Have an in depth knowledge of industrial network systems.• Collaborate with tenured IT Professionals, which enabled me to have a much deeper insight into the IT Sector.• Gain the ability to perform effective time management.
