Profile bio

About Christopher Izzo

I have a broad interest in fish and shark ecology, but have worked with a range of aquatic taxa (from bivalves to marine mammals). I have a broad research background and consider myself fortunate to have worked across a range of fields (e.g. fisheries science, molecular biology, and biogeochemistry). An underlying theme of my research has been the use of the calcified structures of aquatic organisms to answer pertinent questions about species biology, patterns of movement and stock structure, and more recently environmental change. My current research at The University of Adelaide exploits the growth and chemical properties of fish ear bones (otoliths) to examine long-term changes in the demography of fish populations and the surrounding aquatic environment; and explores links between the two.

Listed skills include Science, Molecular Biology, Research, Scientific Writing, and 23 others.
