I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. As a teacher, I have placed priority on presenting materials that showcase my ingenuity, creativity, and innovation in a way that is engaging and fun for students because I feel that if they are having fun, they will put more effort into the class as a whole. Having been with Katy Independent School District throughout the entirety of my career, I have had the opportunity to work on two campuses, allowing me to work under different leadership styles and in different atmospheres. I have had the ability to see how different departments are run and how grade level teams work together. Having been involved with different teams, I have gained valuable understanding and management skills when it comes to handling different personalities and moving teams confidently through conflicts. Creating a cohesive, engaged team is important to me, and I believe that ensuring that everyone’s voices are heard and validated is key in creating that atmosphere.My position as New Teacher Mentor has allowed me to help develop teachers and allow them to reach their full potential. I believe that helping to develop teachers is one of the best ways in developing students, and I take great pride in working first-year teachers and sharing what I have learned with them.
