Inspired at a young age to pursue a career in science, I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology. I interned at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where I was first introduced to diagnostic technology. That experience inspired me to pursue roles focused in the Diagnostic industry and how we leverage new advances in technology to better understand disease and improve healthcare around the world.Today, I have 25 years of medical device and diagnostic commercial sales and marketing leadership experience, particularly in molecular, point of care, diabetes, and core diagnostics. I have held leadership roles with Abbott Laboratories, Analyte Health, QIAGEN, and Visby Medical, where I developed and executed strategies supporting U.S. and Global product launches as well as the build out of commercial organizations achieving and exceeding top and bottom-line growth.Additionally, I established the companion diagnostic franchise at Abbott, executing product development contracts with pharmaceutical companies and launching the first FDA approved companion diagnostic assay supporting Pfizer’s Crizotinib therapy for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. I was fortunate to meet patients that had been given Crizotinib and see the dramatic impact it made on their lives!Diagnostics truly makes a difference and informs more than 70% of medical decisions. I’ve worked with amazing customers and colleagues from around the world, several of whom I am still actively in touch with today. I’ve consistently achieved and exceeded goals and expectations; however, the most rewarding aspect has been the incredible people I’ve met along the way.I believe a successful business is built on exceeding clients’ expectations and a successful organization inspires individual growth and development within its people.
