-Performed research independently on renewable energy alternatives. Methanol is a good fuel alternative as it can be used directly in cars or it can be used to form plastics, which also alleviates our reliance on the oil refinery process. Many of the catalysts that can perform the conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol utilize precious metals, like ruthenium or palladium. As part of this research, I researched new catalysts that utilize earth-abundant metals. These catalysts can allow for the process to become more industrially viable. Additionally, I converted kelp to methane and methanol directly, which allows for kelp to be a more viable biomass that can help alleviate our reliance on fossil fuels. My research that I conducted was specifically focused on helping to alleviate the climate crisis, but also to help make the ICCU process more industrially viable. To accomplish this goal, I researched specific scientific policy as it related to my research to help identify ways to improve the system. -Mentored both new graduate students and undergraduate students. In this role, I helped new researchers learn the required skills they would need to succeed, for instance handling pressurized hydrogen and the use of corrosive materials. I mentored a summer undergraduate student through the National Science Foundation where I created my own project for them and then taught them how to conduct research to complete the project.-Presented new findings in specialized and general audience presentations to highlight recent advancements. This allowed me to enhance my presentation skills and learned how to relate my specialized research to a general audience.

-Instructed 75 students in their first semester of organic chemistry-Developed course materials used for class activities to better facilitate learning-Administered and wrote exams while managing teaching assistants how to grade materials effectively

· Managed 80 students a week and guided them as they perform their experiments. It was also my responsibility to restock any supplies that the lab needed and to ensure the safety of all of my students. · Graded the lab reports for 40 students and tests for an organic chemistry class.· Taught students key concepts in the lab through practical, hands-on work while also helping students in an office hour setting so that they could better learn the concepts in their lecture· Created a new lesson plan for the second semester of organic chemistry to better instruct students on how to utilize Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) in structure identification

· Hired by the chemistry department to help facilitate an organic and general chemistry lab based on faculty recommendation. I was a laboratory assistant for organic chemistry in the Spring 2018 and Fall 2018 semesters. I was a laboratory assistant for general chemistry in the Spring 2019 semester. · Helped students learn the chemistry they are using while also making sure everyone is safe. If there are potential hazards in the lab, I work with the professor in the lab to resolve the situation.· Restocked reagents as necessary to help students complete the reactions. I also grade lab books and teach students how to write a lab manual.

· Hired by the Math department for the 2017-2018 academic year to tutor students in various introductory math courses. For the 2018-2019 academic year, I received a promotion to tutor advanced mathematics courses, such as linear algebra and differential equations. The position was based on faculty recommendation. · Worked with students to break down problems into smaller, more manageable components. This approach was especially effective in advanced courses as problems will often feel overwhelming. · Tutored with empathy as different aspects of math can be challenging for different people and applied that knowledge to better determine how to address the specific problems the student was facing.

· Appointed to serve Butler University’s Student Government Association as the Website Team Leader during my Sophomore year· Lead a team of three other students to update and maintain the website, manage the messaging server, create long-term plans for the website, and update a campus calendar· Utilized HTML, compiled by WordPress, along with managing the plugins necessary for the website to function. Also, managed our organization's Slack channel and implemented plugins to facilitate open communication across the association

· Selected from a 100-person applicant pool for one of ten positions in my first year of college to become a resident assistant. · Organized unit events for 40 residents, facilitated mediations, created a cohesive community and helped with any administrative aspects of residential life.· Worked with 130 residents and planned over 50 programs.· Awarded Resident Assistant of the year during the 2016-2017 academic year. Through reviews conducted by the Department of Residential Life, my residents also rated me in the top 10% of RA's on Butler's campus all three academic years (2016-2017, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019) I held the position.

· Hired by the Chemistry department to help students taking general and organic chemistry. I was selected for this position based on faculty recommendation. , I tutored general chemistry for the 2016-2017 academic year. I tutored organic chemistry for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years.· Worked with students to work towards solutions to their problems while teaching them the skills they need to learn the material. · I also adapted my tutoring style to the student that I am currently working with, because each student is different in order to learn as best as possible.

· Selected among other Butler students to participate in a summer-long research program, where I spent my summer researching a brain receptor.· Learned about lab techniques and acquired skills in grant writing. · Presented a poster and went through training on how to educate others about my research clearly and concisely.
