I locally farm and responsibly harvest pasture-raised poultry in Brazos County. I only sell products I would feed to my family, so you can be sure that anything you purchase from Jagge's BCS Chicken is fresh. None of our meat is shipped. I only sell locally with the Brazos Valley Farmers' Market Association.

I manage the research laboratory of Dr. Hubert Amrein in the department of Molecular and Cellular Medicine. Dr. Amrein is investigating chemosensory receptors in fruit flies, and my specific project is to determine which sugars (sucrose, glucose, etc...) are recognized by which of the several similar sugar receptors in fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster).

Using the tools of molecular biology (PCR, etc...), I investigated the regulation of renal organ function in the yellow fever mosquito. The identification of critical control mechanisms could perhaps lead to the design of new pesticides. While in grad school I published three peer-reviewed papers, one of which was from my dissertation.

I worked as a Technician for Dr. Patricia Pietrantonio, the insect toxicologist at Texas A&M. In addition to molecular work with mosquitoes and ticks, and toxicological work with mosquitoes, moths, boll weevils and white flies, I was responsible for purchasing, chemical inventory and day-to-day lab functions including safety and animal handling inspections and mosquito colony maintenance. I also participated in publication and grant application preparation.
