As a job coach at Spectrum Works, I teach HTML and CSS to young adults with Autism in order to bolster their job skills. I develop lesson plans and projects for job trainees to complete. In addition, I teach best coding practices when applicable. Each student is different, so I figure out what they are capable of and use that to determine their curriculum. I also collaborate with the senior job coach to design the curriculum.

As a deputy instructor at Master Cho's Talium, I am responsible for the success of my Taekwondo students. Due to this, I try my best when I teach my students and, if they are having trouble understanding a concept, I explain it in different ways until they understand it because people have different learning styles. I am also responsible for warming up the class with stretching, which is important due to safety and because it starts the day, and teaching curriculum to five to eight students at a time. I can help students who have special needs because of my position and the skills I acquired. I am also responsible for helping with keeping the school clean along with setting up and cleaning up for special events. Overall, I believe the responsibilities that I have as a deputy instructor have prepared me for a successful career.

As an Assistant Instructor, I am primarily responsible for providing support for the higher level instructors. I usually teach one to three students at a time. I am also responsible for helping with keeping the school clean along with setting up and cleaning up for special events. Sometimes I need to help warm up the class with stretching. Though this was a simple position, I believe it gave me responsibility and experience that will serve me well for a career.

As a Graduate Assistant at Montclair State University, I tutor students who are taking CSIT 100 and 200 level courses. In order to do this, I have to break down the concepts in those courses so students can understand them and solve problems quickly. When a student presents me with a concept that I have not seen before, I adapt and use the information in their course to handle it. I also assess students' skill level in order to determine how to best help them. I am also responsible for handling grading some labs and assignments for those courses. In addition, I collaborate with Computer Science professors at Montclair State University. Being a graduate assistant has been a valuable experience that has taught me about collaboration and how to solve various problems.

As an iD Tech Camp Instructor, I am responsible for teaching eight to ten students programing, game design and robotics concepts. The students range from seven to seventeen years old and tailored how I would teach based on their age. While I was provided an outline for each courses’ curriculum, I am responsible for deciding what to teach and how to teach it. I also modify my lessons based on the students’ needs, which improves my adaptability and problem solving skills. I am responsible for my students’ safety and I supervise them throughout the day. I prepare and run indoor and outdoor activities for students so that recharge by spending time away from computers. Finally, my job heavily involves collaborating with the camp site’s director. Working at iD Tech Camp has helped me learn many skills that I will use throughout my life.
