I work at the North Fork Water Treatment Plant in Black Mountain, NC where I operate a 31 MGD direct filtration plant to produce safe and aesthetically pleasing water for the 125,000 customers of the City of Asheville. My position involves plant operations, maintenance, laboratory testing, completion of state reports, monitoring of the city's distribution system, dispatching of personnel to address distribution issues, trending and interpreting SCADA data, and customer service. I reviewed and prepared climate data, to be keyed into digital format, by making corrections as required and documenting steps taken in the assurance process. After my assessment, the data was then sent to another contractor to be keyed and made available for us by Meteorologists, Climatologists and/or Scientists for research. The data was checked for meteorological integrity, accuracy and station identification. This position ended due to unexpected budget/earmark cuts from the Federal budget that year.

I worked for Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. as a salesman. Ferguson Enterprises is one of the largest plumbing supply distributors in the United States. I worked on the counter, directly with customers as they came into the store by typing up invoices for them and ordering any items that we did not have in stock. I also answered phone calls as needed and took their orders or answered questions that they may have had. I also handled payments of money such as cash, checks, and/or credit cards. I also tested water samples that customers would bring in and gave them a recommendation for what type of water filter they may need. We usually tested for things such as iron, Ph, and hardness levels.
