Senior Facilities Designer
CurrentScopeUsing Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD and REVIT, to efficiently produce detailed fabrication & assembly drawings for Test Cells and Jet Engine Equipment. Basic Engineering Drawings sets include architectural, structural, mechanical, fire protection and electrical drawings and information packages from engineering inputs for aircraft engine test cells, power generation engine test cells, wind tunnels and other aerospace ground test facilities. Understand existing company products and utilize CAD/PDM/ERP systems and other methods as required to complete assigned tasks both at Calspan JETS and in the field. Make effective use of all applicable available software tools. Accountabilities: Under general direction of a team of engineers, design and develop facility systems for specific projects and proposals;Organize Fabrication/Assembly/Installation drawings per company configuration management plan and established procedures;Assist in development of a REVIT/ACAD drawing/information package (Basic Engineering Drawing Set);Take into consideration basic functional inter-relationships, consideration of design criteria and operational details during production of drawings and information packages;Working under the direction of a team of engineers, plan and organize the detail development and drawing effort on specific projects, including establishment of drawing estimates, schedules and drawing requirements to meet budget and schedule constraints;Develop and maintain layouts, criteria and installation drawings and create detail and assembly drawings as required;Perform and/or determine the format, documentation and dimensional requirements within conceptual and detailed drawing packages;Report status, needs and problems to the responsible engineer on a regular basis;Assist with training and support of other less experienced designers;Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
