I planned and implemented the marketing plan to produce one of the region's fastest growing commercial contractors. Leaning on my 11+ years at a national Ad Agency, and another decade leading the marketing for a nationally-ranked commercial contractor, I devised messaging strategies, created and defined a brand, and raised brand awareness through paid advertising, media, public relations, and social media. Designed and managed the process for submitting winning RFPs. Commercial Construction is a highly competitive business-to-business industry and as such I've created a role for the 100 professionals in my company to individually contribute to the marketing mix. Annual Revenues grew from $34M to $220M during my tenure.

I managed the corporate marketing activities of Layton Construction - a nationally-ranked, privately held commercial contractor. I managed all Marketing Personnel, including a proposal manager and a team of marketing coordinators in our corporate office and regional office. My duties included executing the corporate marketing strategies, crafting and executing the proposal (RFP) process, and ensuring a timely and quality submittal. I created processes and solutions for meeting deadlines in a predictable method. Additionally, I worked to provide and ensure consistent branding and messaging throughout our U.S. markets, served by the seven office locations from Hawaii to Tennessee. Annual revenues grew from $220M to $1.2B during my tenure leading the Marketing team.

Developed and managed communication strategies for national political candidates, campaigns and ballot initiatives. Designed focus groups to test messaging. Designed and interpreted polling for sample sizes greater than 500 . Extensive work for and embedded within successful campaigns for U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, Gubernatorial, States Attorneys General and county mayoral/council positions. Managed all aspects of messaging, event planning, public engagements, speeches, press events and media placement.

Developed my career while working for a full-service advertising agency for more than a decade, crafting and executing strategies for many regional, national and global brands. During this time, I was exposed to both the science and creative aspects of constructing effective advertising, beginning with extensive branding and position research, generating a marketing plan, defining a marketing mix, establishing a budget, and designing methods and metrics to test the success of the ongoing campaigns. Most client campaigns were 24-36 month contracts, and I assisted in recapturing these accounts at the end of each contract cycle.
