My industrial experience spans over three decades in environments ranging from well-established small business, through global healthcare leader, to start-up.As a strong & determined Chartered Engineer and having invested over 28 years of my career in the complex safety critical medical industry, I have learned what it takes to deliver commercially successful, pioneering, globally accessible healthcare solutions. This has provided me with first-hand experience in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to end of commercial availability, across many functions of the business.Having gained first-hand experience in all phases, from external research collaboration through advanced engineering, product development, manufacturing, test, training, installation, and repair, I have a holistic perspective of the overall process, inputs, outputs, risk management and trade-offs, to ensure commercially viable and relevant products are developed in a timely manner.I hold several Patents in various global regions, with additional disclosures under review. I am familiar with Waterfall and Agile methodologies and have supported a business transformation from the former to the latter.Following almost two years of development, in 2020 I founded Agile Companion™ Technologies, a start-up, that has now commercially released the Agile Companion™ Toolkit – a software application delivering high quality actionable information to assist agile organisations optimise their investment.

Responsibilities included facility management, personnel management, product development and supplier test development / approval.Responsible for managing three R&D Digital Linear Accelerators and the Engineers responsible for them. Two systems were radiating linear accelerators capable of producing 25MV X-rays and 22MeV electrons. This involved the allocation of resource to R&D Projects, maintenance, periodic safety checks and delivery of utilisation metrics. Personnel management included Performance Reviews, recruitment and contribution to functional budgeting.Product development responsibility included the contribution to two key elements of the Elekta Precise Treatment System™: the Precise Table and iViewGT™. Lead the delivery of the electronics for iVewGT™, designing a safety critical System-on-a-Board solution for the robotic positional control of the imaging panel. Designed the electronics integrating the imaging panel with the imaging system, deploying CAN and specifying a key image processing software algorithm. Both designs incorporated an FPGA containing State Machines and combinatorial logic.The Precise Table was awarded “The Queen's Awards for Enterprise: Innovation” in 2002.Worked with the Advanced Development Team to specify a hardware and software platform for waveguide research.
