This included the tracking of metrics and deployment of technical priorities to the System Architects, System Engineers and Implementation Teams on the SAFe Release Train.Ensured the alignment of the technical documentation with the Regulatory Strategy to secure CE and in readiness for wider global compliance submissions.Provided technical guidance and review at implementation team level where required. Supported network performance evaluation with the development of a bespoke C# test tool.Drove collaboration and provided technical support between key areas of the business to ensure the overall solution performed as expected during Formal Verification and Validation activities.

Worked closely with a highly skilled cross-functional team providing technical direction and vision.Used QFD and rapid prototyping techniques in the development of the second proof of concept for the product now released as Elekta Unity.Worked with global visionaries to ensure internal and external customer needs were captured. Deployed System Engineering practices to ensure workflows, architecture, requirements and specifications were captured and deployed.Supported the definition and deployment of implementation teams. Created a System Integration Team to provide technical guidance and integration support to the implementation teams. Drove a regular cadence of Stand-Ups to ensure transparency, tracking and management of technical risks.Developed a C# workflow management tool, integrated with SharePoint (through Microsoft Outlook), Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word for internal use.

Lead the control system deliverables of the Elekta’s kV Cone Beam imaging solution Elekta Synergy®. Member of the cross-functional Architecture Team. In a subsequent release, held the role of Project Safety Engineer for the inclusion of 4D Imaging to manage respiratory motion in Elekta Symmetry™.Held the role of Product System Engineer for the iViewGT and XVI products.Developed C based test harness to evaluate and log system performance, coupled with C# post capture analysis tool.Collaborated with a key European University Hospital in a mixed-modality high-speed volumetric imaging PhD research study. Supported UK PhD student in their imaging research project.

Responsibilities included facility management, personnel management, product development and supplier test development / approval.Responsible for managing three R&D Digital Linear Accelerators and the Engineers responsible for them. Two systems were radiating linear accelerators capable of producing 25MV X-rays and 22MeV electrons. This involved the allocation of resource to R&D Projects, maintenance, periodic safety checks and delivery of utilisation metrics. Personnel management included Performance Reviews, recruitment and contribution to functional budgeting.Product development responsibility included the contribution to two key elements of the Elekta Precise Treatment System™: the Precise Table and iViewGT™. Lead the delivery of the electronics for iVewGT™, designing a safety critical System-on-a-Board solution for the robotic positional control of the imaging panel. Designed the electronics integrating the imaging panel with the imaging system, deploying CAN and specifying a key image processing software algorithm. Both designs incorporated an FPGA containing State Machines and combinatorial logic.The Precise Table was awarded “The Queen's Awards for Enterprise: Innovation” in 2002.Worked with the Advanced Development Team to specify a hardware and software platform for waveguide research.

Experience gained in both Team Leadership / Personnel Management and the delivery of bespoke technical solutions containing hardware, software and integrated solutions for internal, supplier and field use.Solutions included: the control of VXI Instrumentation from National Instruments controlled using software developed in C in the LabWindows CVI IDE; the development of a manufacturing and field service software virtual instrument enabling control and plotting of key parameters of the linear accelerator.Experience in influencing R&D designs to ensure definition and adherence to Design for Test practices. Engagement in supplier Quality Audits, formal Test Acceptance and new supplier appraisal.Owned the QMS for the Section which were subjected to internal and external ISO audits.
