We all know that bids are a high-stakes, ultra-competitive business, with no second prizes or chances. Because they are so critical to winning new work, as well as keeping existing contracts, bid coordinators are vital to a company's continuing existence, and to job security.Bids are detailed, complex documents that often run to hundreds of pages, outlining how the candidate organisation would meet a contract's requirements. They cover a wide range of issues, from health and safety to customer care and staff issues, and are weighted for quality as well as price.I am responsible for assisting the Bid Manager in submitting a completed bid to an existing or prospective client, on time and within budget. I review the bid to ensure that all the client's questions have been answered as fully as possible, and that the organisation has given itself the best possible chance of success.Working under the direction of the bid manager, my role involves assisting in leading all day-to-day aspects of an individual bid. I coordinate and work closely with a core team ensuring they have all the required information to complete their tasks. Assisted in the creation of the final bid document ensuring the the final product has been quality checked to ensure accuracy and conformity. The key to being a Bid Coordinator is to be extremely organised and learn quickly.

The station, 6-level parking structure, surface lot, platform and intersection improvements provides a total of 1,470 parking spaces for GO patrons. This project was a design build effort led by Kenaidan. The superstructure for the garage includes 6-levels of post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete, a feature stair tower and an enclosed pedestrian bridge linking the parking facility to the train platforms. The new station building was designed to achieve LEED Silver designation. As the Project Engineer, I was responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing all documentation as required as well as monitoring the process throughout construction to ensure compliance with all requirements.During the Concrete works, I was tasked to provide weekly targets for all crews and to monitor their work throughout the week to ensure adherence to the project schedule. Ordered all Concrete related equipment and material and coordinate the placement of concrete. After the Concrete work was completed I was then tasked to coordinate the exterior works (civil & landscape). Conducted daily meetings with the sub-contractor's to ensure smooth operation. During the entire project, we were faced with many challenges. The two largest challenge was ensuring that the multi-level parking structure, transit facility remained operational during construction and the seamless switch over to the new station building.
