Chris joined Leo A Daly’s Los Angeles team to assist the medical planning on design teams in the West Los Angeles VA Hospital tower project during its design development phase. As a medical planner, Chris has worked closely with senior planning leadership to further develop the VA's programming for a five-story, 450,000 sf hospital expansion on their campus in Brentwood, California. Meeting and presenting design progress during user group meetings, Chris has gained first-hand experience with nursing staff and physicians in pursuing a design that, not only meets but exceeds their expectations.

After the E. Todd Wheeler Healthcare fellowship came to a close, Chris continued to learn more about both the architectural practice and the healthcare field. Working in Los Angeles presented several fantastic opportunities to work on a variety of projects, both local and distant, with an incredibly talented and driven healthcare team. Surrounded by an abundance of talent, Chris utilized each day to become a better team member, leader, and architect.

As part of Perkins and Will's four inaugural E. Todd Wheeler Healthcare fellows, Chris collaborated with project designers, architects, and practice leaders across the country. From medical planning to interior design and construction documents, Chris gained a multitude of experience and broadened his spectrum of skills throughout the architectural practice. During his fellowship, Chris conducted two research papers: "Acoustical Remediation in the Operating Room: Changing how we hear the OR" and "Reducing Waste in the Operating Room: Optimizing supply expenditures", both of which were published in the Perkins&Will Research Journal.

While studying for his Master of Architecture degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, Chris joined the Student Life studio team at TreanorHL Architects to assist their team with the design of several residence halls for a variety of fantastic universities. His work includes the Abigail Morse Hall Rehabilitation at Emporia State University and predesign services for the Roadrunner Residence Tower at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
