Contemplating a new challenge with a local company.NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENT: Sourced difficult-to-find parts and materials to ensure uptime. Consistently secured alternate parts that maximized machine up time and restored production within hours.● PM Implementation. Created and deployed a dramatically improved PM program throughout the facility—replacing legacy paper-based systems with CMMS. The results: In two different settings, an estimated 36% annual savings on repairs with an increase in machine uptime of 17%.● Cost savings. Reduced outsourcing of maintenance, repairs & installations by taking in-house select tasks. The results: An immediate savings of more than $100K in outside services. Similarly, converted a 35,000 sq. ft. warehouse from high pressure sodium lighting to brighter, safer, more cost-effective LED lighting. The results: Facing a two-week, $98K quote by local contractors, planned the project, procured materials and managed work with an onsite maintenance team for a final cost of $31K. ● Productivity improvement. Addressed a longstanding issue with equipment downtime. Identified issues with spare parts & ordering causing 20% of the problem. Implemented a critical parts stocking level and a Kanban-style ordering system. The results: A reduction in associated downtime of 15%.

Managed day-to-day facility operations and maintenance of a 78,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant, including a 110-ton glycol chiller, 24 HVAC units, a de-ionized water generation system, 24 700-gallon plating tanks with VSD drive recirculation pumps, and 4kW immersion heaters and controls. Managed, trained and directed workload for a maintenance team of six.NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENT: The day before Christmas, received an alarm that there was a fire inside the plating production department causing significant damage to several tanks and electrical systems along with flooding from the sprinkler system. Over the holiday weekend, repaired and restored three of the four tanks to operational condition and returned to production with no lost time. ● Technology implementation. Implemented a first-of-its-kind wireless monitoring system that allowed the maintenance department near constant condition monitoring access and alarm notification. The results: Significantly better response times to issues, especially nights and weekends. ● System backup. Designed an innovative solution to ensure maximum plant uptime in the face of an equipment failure—a piping system that cross-connected two cooling systems for redundancy. The results: An elegant solution that repeatedly served to maintain plant uptime and mitigate risk.
