After 25 years as a high school educator, I have pivoted into the world of financial planning. Having taught advanced math courses I have extensive experience helping people understand and apply complex concepts and ideas to their unique scenarios. My experience teaching statistics provides experience in mathematical modeling that I am applying to portfolio development using advanced tools and methods. And my experience teaching macro, micro, international and development economics while living in Jakarta, Indonesia, gives me historical understanding of both domestic and international markets and the factors that influence both domestic and foreign economies. As a head football coach, I have developed skills to guide individuals and teams to the highest levels of success, and now enjoy working with a team of advisors to guide clients to wealth creation as well as impact investing and tax advantaged philanthropy. I have had the pleasure of training with Senior Advisor, Erik Olson, over the past year. He has spent roughly 10 hours each week providing comprehensive training at a level higher than I could have imagined in areas such as: 1) Advanced tax planning to avoid and/or reduce taxes through asset location and allocation. These methods include analyzing and implementing roth conversion strategies, and using advanced planning tools to make the best decisions on social security and medicare options as well as maximizing charitable contributions with tax efficient strategies.2) Estate planning which includes reviewing and analyzing current plans and/or helping create trusts, re-deed houses within the trust and establish financial and healthcare POAs while working with attorneys in the client's state all at a fraction of the cost of what an attorney would charge. 3) Protecting assets by assessing insurance coverage options, analyzing coverages and reviewing potential needs, and developing asset ownership structures that provide the most protection;4) Developing creative solutions to prepare the funding of potential long-term care without eating away at the current portfolio which sacrifices potential growth; 5) Creating portfolios that meet the established needs, goals, risk tolerance and risk capacity of the investor. In doing this, we include private placements and alternative investments, as well as numerous strategies that meet each individual investors needs. These portfolios can be screened to allow the Christian Investor to steward their wealth in a way that aligns with their values and creates Kingdom impact without sacrificing return.
