As Director of University Communications at NKU, I coordinated internal campus communication strategies and execution for a large, metropolitan university serving about 14,000 students and more than 2,000 faculty and staff.In this role, I developed consistent, user-friendly communication tools to help key university constituents communicate with their respective stakeholders. Primary responsibilities included: executive communication (presidential speeches, emails, and other communications) and internal communication (managing master editorial calendar and campus-wide events calendar, manage weekly faculty/staff and student electronic newsletters, and overseeing NKU Magazine (print, digital, podcast, etc.) I also produced a series of University publications such as the President's Annual Report.

As Director of Marketing and Communications at NKU, I work alongside the university’s board, president, and executive team to address the challenges that face a 15,000-student institution located in a Top 35 media market. I draw upon my years of experience in the field and my extensive education, which includes a Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctor. Thus, I am able to analyze existing and emerging challenges from the perspective of a reporter, an administrator, and an attorney. I cannot overstate the value of meeting communication challenges from these multiple perspectives. In addition to serving as the primary university spokesperson, I also manage a staff of 14 professionals responsible for branding, marketing, advertising, web communications, publications, photography, social media, and internal/executive communications for one of the fastest growing colleges in the Midwest. My tenure has included a full institutional rebranding, development of NKU’s first strategic marketing plan, a comprehensive capital fundraising campaign, a complete rebuild of the NKU website, the creation of a strong social media presence, and countless crises requiring skilled and deliberate responses.
