I've always been interested in exploring my environment. From navigating the social environment, to investigating the physical world, I'm enthralled about what new, exciting lessons lie outside my realm of understanding.These are some examples of how I explore the world:During the CoVid-19 Pandemic, I started a small service delivering groceries to at-risk members of my community. I established and maintained symbiotic relationships with members of my community, moved more than $20,000 worth of inventory in over 200 deliveries and explored the realms of marketing, customer service, accounting, and logistics.In 2017 I hiked for 5 months and 1700 miles through the mountains of my home state of California on the Pacific Crest Trail. I saw parts of California I would have never dreamed of and practiced self-sufficiency, interdependence, risk-mitigation and persistence. In 2018 I hiked 500 miles across Spain with my family on the Camino de Santiago.After purchasing a motorcycle in 2015, I wanted to learn more about maintaining my machine. I started apprenticing at a local motorcycle repair shop, and ended up apprenticing for two years. I got put through the ringer changing tires, replacing chains, performing diagnostics on electrical systems, rebuilding my engine, and earning my place in a rough and tumble mechanic's shop.In 2021, I accepted an offer for an internship at the Savannah River National Laboratory in South Carolina working in the fields of robotics and AI in the Research and Development Engineering Group. I drove from Los Angeles to Aiken, South Carolina. Under the guidance of my supervisor and mentors, I was able to gain experience in programming microcontrollers for robotic applications and investigated the realm of machine learning algorithms. Moving forward, I am interested in developing skills useful in big data analytics and exploring the fields of utility scale energy production and distribution, aerospace engineering, real estate investment and analysis, and bioinformatics. This is not a comprehensive list. I plan on leveraging my experience with iOS development and machine learning and artificial intelligence to innovate and perform in these spaces and others.New territory, whether physical or theoretical, is waiting to be explored.
