I have worked on a top tier COMAH site for 15 years. I am enrolled onto the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety – Level 3 at Middlesbrough College starting in September 2021.I started as a Production Operator in 2006 until 2009. I was promoted to the role of Lead Production Operator in 2009, working in this role until 2019, when I was promoted to Plant Production Coordinator. As Lead Operator, I supervised 2 operators, planning day to day operations, allocation of work, prioritising raw material or final product production depending on company targets. I produced, lead and received production handovers and worked with higher management with plant tier boards. I am currently the Plant Production Coordinator. This role is very varied, it includes ensuring production targets are met, managing ‘day-to-day’ operations, ensuring quality control, ensuring health and safety on the site and monitoring plant performance. I manage 4 teams, consisting of 14 operators and 4 Area Team Leaders, to ensure production targets are met.
