Historian and freelance educator. Leads a one-person learning programme for formal and informal learners (KS2 to undergraduate degree). Hosts walking tours and talks in the south Essex area. Available for school visits (history curriculum), events, and lectures.

I conceptualize, plan, and implement a yearlong programme of events across four museum branches for all ages and abilities. These consist of holiday/half-term holiday events, special events, and events in support of the Museum’s exhibition programme. They cater for all ages and abilities, and can cover general themes to more specific and catered events and tours.Additionally, I organise, book, process, and deliver a curriculum and extra curriculum programme of educational sessions for KS1-KS4 covering local history, archaeology and art. Equally, I conduct tours for adult groups, college students and undergraduates. I also act as a guest lecturer on local history for groups that meet outside Museum branches.Finally, I research, interpret, and archive the town’s WWI and WWII roll’s of honour. This is alongside a four year long project to research the towns WWI heritage and undertake opportunities to share that story. I have worked alongside several HLF projects including Remember Us?, Gallipoli100, and Never Forget. Over the centenary project I have educated over 10,000 local people through formal education sessions, events, HLF projects and guest lectures.I am also a member of the Cultural Events Officers Committee which conceptualise, plan and implement Borough-wide festivals, carnivals, commemorative events and anniversary events.

Continuing the Roll of Honour Outreach Project, my job role expanded with the education programme at Southend Museums, incorporating booking and running education sessions, as well as planning, advertising and implementing events across all museum branches.

I researched, interpreted, and archived the town’s WWI roll of honour and engaged in educational outreach and gave lectures pertaining to Southend and the areas WWI history. I collaborated with external partners from the HLF, including Remember Us?, Gallipoli100, and Never Forget. I organised and implemented commemorative and anniversary events alongside other teams and departments in the council, and liaised with organisations, groups, and individuals conducting research with links to Southend, including the Western Front Association and the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies (University of Waterloo, CA).

My primary role was the general maintenance and upkeep of Museum property, conservation housekeeping, sales work, and providing information pertaining to Museum collections and properties.I additionally assisted the education Team’s Bike It initiative, giving historic tours of a Medieval Cluniac Priory to paid groups.I additionally volunteered to research, interpret, and archive the town’s WWII roll of honour.

I volunteered as an operational driver for a vernicular railway, giving talks on its history, and assisted in a voluntary capacity during Museum events.

I lived in a monastic house, under the Anglican Church, and followed the Rule of St. Benedict. As such, I undertook the Divine Liturgy under the guidance of the Book of Common Prayer, led prayer evenings in a youth Church, aided and assisted during Church services, and studied theology.I was a trustee of the Legacy Church, under St. Georges, Benfleet, Essex.
