Christopher D. Lear is a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney. After obtaining his Undergraduate Degree from Western State University, Mr. Lear went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate Degree at Western State University College of Law. Upon becoming licensed to practice law in California, Mr. Lear gained experience in a number of areas of law before beginning employment with State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) in 1999. After five years of experience in workers’ compensation matters with SCIF, Mr. Lear accepted a position as managing attorney at Floyd, Skeren & Kelly, where he managed three different firm offices. In 2014, Mr. Lear brought his extensive workers' compensation knowledge and aggressive defense handling skills to Dietz, Gilmor & Chazen, APC, where he managed their Long Beach, CA office for five years. After 29 years of military service in the U.S. Army, Mr. Lear retired in 2012 and received an Honorable Discharge. His service included military combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, Mr. Lear participated in active duty missions in the Philippines, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait and Qatar.
