As recognized Software Asset and Licensing subject matter expert, responsible for all aspects of Software Asset Management from planning through retirement including contract management and negotiation, audits, license management, tooling, reporting, contract interpretation, license management, fulfillment, and portfolio optimization. Manage a team of SCE and outsourced support staff responsible for software maintenance contract renewals exceeding $70M annually. Major publishers include SAP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, BMC, CA and VMware. Aspects of the role include: • Initiating software asset management conversation with clients• Consulting regarding clients licensing and project needs• Negotiating Software contracts resulting in over 45% (~$15M) savings on one deal alone in 2015• Managing Software contracts • Performing inventories of installed software• Executing inventory vs. entitlement license position analysis• Managing external publisher’s software audits • Creating software asset management plans• Gaining executive support for and executing SAM projects• Interpreting contract terms and conditions • Managing matrixed and off-shore SAM support teams

In this role responsible for ongoing support and operational delivery of the Configuration Management System (currently HP Service Manager/uCMDB) as well as rollout of new BMC Remedy/ADDM Service Management tooling. Building upon the capabilities of Remedy, also responsible for establishing a robust Asset Management practice, combining previously distributed software asset management support into a centralized support team with standardized processes and operational procedures. In this space, responsible for all budget management associated with software subscriptions and maintenance renewals currently at $45M/yr. Responsible for ongoing governance and renegotiation of major Enterprise License Agreements. Responsible for infrastructure vendor management including supplier surveys. Responsible for IT Asset policies and procedures. Responsible for addressing all vendor audits.

Assumed management responsibility in December 2011 for the Resource Management, Business Support, Process Support and Control Teams of OM&C. This staff of 26 provide core Divisional Support Service to ITS for functions including but not limited to Internal and External Regulatory Compliance, ITIL Change and Release Management, Software Maintenance and Licenses, Asset Management, Process Definition and Governance, Time Data Reporting, On-Boarding/Off-Boarding, Mandatory and Safety Training Coordination, Role to Position Mapping, Benchmark Studies (GRC, UNITE, WES, etc.), Annual Planning, Metrics and Reporting, Communications, and Budget Oversight

Responsible for overall portfolio management of the IT Infrastructure Software License and Maintenance catalog including cost control, software enterprise licensing agreements, negotiation, vender relationships, long range architectural and technical alignment and long range financial planning of an apx. $15M annual budget. Environment consists of over 1500 bare metal and virtualized Windows Server images, 900 stand-alone and virtualized UNIX images and 6000 zSeries Mainframe MIPS. Internal interface and coordination points include IT Operations, Operations Management and Services, Technology and Risk Management, Application Delivery, Supply Management, Finance, Law, Contracts, Contract Labor partners, and SCE business units. Responsible for providing IT operational expense input to the General Rate Case submission to the California Public Utilities Commission. Responsible for architecting and delivering an enterprise wide asset management process and practice. In Q4 2010 provided thought leadership and project management for an IBM Distributed Software Audit, bringing settlement costs in at approximately 50% of independent analyst’s estimates. In addition, lead SCE negotiations for major amendments to our IBM and HP ELA’s.
