Chris is a decorated veteran who served with honor in the United States Army Reserves. As a civil affairs specialist his training included developing the skills required to negotiate between the military, political and commercial sectors of a host nation while acting as a representative of the United States.His Undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. He graduated magna cum laude, completing a program of study in International Relations. He was also honored by the College of Community and Public Service for founding a 501 (c)(3) fighting for human rights. Additionally, he was acknowledged by the Ross Center for Students with Disabilities for his work with the hearing impaired. As a founding member of the Arlington chapter of Occupy Wall Street he served as co-chair of the direct action committee and organized a successful occupation of the Alewife train station as well as a day long nature cleanup of the Alewife river-way by building coalitions of other chapters and groups from multiple local Universities.He returned to the University of Massachusetts and earned a Master's Degree in Education. He has been teaching students in underserved communities for more than a decade. He performed his practicum teaching science to a class of special education sixth graders. Teaching requires the ability to work through crises, record and analyze data and the ability to respond in timely manner to administrators and parents. He successfully helped hundreds of students reach their objectives on examinations such as the Independent School Entrance Exam and its 5 sections: Reading Comprehension; Mathematic Achievement; Verbal Reasoning; Reading Comprehension; and Writing. Planning and presenting lessons, keeping track of data and then analyzing that information are among the responsibilities of a successful teacher. Public speaking and managing classes are other critical elements of that job and his fluency in Spanish with the ability to speak multiple languages allows him to communicate effectively with multiple generations from all continents. He began his service as the chairperson of the 'Vote Green 2020' political action committee in 2017 and went on to found the International Green Party in 2021. He was recently a featured speaker at the Massachusetts State House during the Extinction Rebellion's 'no new fossil fuel infrastructure' 101st day of a daily protest that is still going and he is currently working with congressional staffers in both Chambers on both sides of the aisle lobbying for social justice.
