Each week, I volunteer some of my time as a cross-platform Mobile App Developer.I am responsible for fixing bugs and implementing features assigned to me from our backlog by the Project Leads.I work on each of the following applications (sometimes all in the same week or day, even):- a UWP .NET app (in C#)- an Android app (in Java & Kotlin)- an iOS app (in Objective-C & Swift)- a React app written in Typescript

I was a .NET developer, using C#, XAML.- I wrote several WPF desktop applications, as well as WinRT and UWP mobile applications and their corresponding User Interfaces in XAML.- I used both SVN and git—though I will always prefer git.- I worked on several public projects with 1,000-100,000s of users, participating in every aspect of the Software Development Life Cycle.I spent most of my time writing code in C# and occasionally in javascript.- I regularly fixed critical, show-stopper bugs in applications used by thousands and even millions of users.- I tested and prepared mobile apps for release on the Windows Store.- I became intimately familiar with the SCRUM process.- For the benefit of the team, I wrote internal wiki pages and user guides on subjects ranging from how to get set up with our large repository on git to a beginner's guide to ReactiveUI in our project.- Favorite Project: I worked on a unique utility which took a written document and the same document as a video, quickly chopping up the video and matching it up to its written text. The user then had the ability to fine tune the markers as needed.

As a full-stack developer, and Technical Lead, my main responsibilities include:- Coaching, mentoring junior developers; performing weekly code reviews and using these opportunities to help the team progress and grow; enforcing good programming practices, writing sufficient e2e & unit tests, etc...- Maintaining the team's test suite: making sure the team tests their code but also, I work to improve the testing workflow to increase our confidence in what we ship- Maintaining & developing a medium-to-large-sized Angular application- Maintaining & developing a medium-sized Vue / Nuxt application- Maintaining & developing several Python (Bottle/Flask) and Node (Express) REST APIs which serve as the backend to our applications (both Mobile apps & frontend web apps).- Maintaining a GraphQL API which is hosted in a Docker container running on AWS Fargate- Setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment of our frontend & backend applications via Azure DevOps Pipelines- Writing and refining several SQL (Postgres, AWS RDS, MySQL) & NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) queries - Turning Mockups/Designs into working applications. This involves using CSS, though I have recently begun to use TailwindCSS which has helped me improve my front-end skills- I also manage our AWS Infrastructure: creating, maintaining, and deploying on several AWS Services (ELB, EC2, Fargate, RDS, Lambda, S3, etc...)

I developed mobile and web app prototypes—turning client's wire-frames and sketches into something they can interact with to make sure they get their app's navigational model and user experience correct before investing time and money in fully developing their app ideas.I also provided consulting and guidance for those with application ideas, helping them refine their thoughts to make sure they "get it right".

I worked on 2 totally different teams during my time at Deutsche Bank, earning a promotion after 1 year.* Team #1: Oracle Database programmer using PL/SQL and Java.I wrote, maintained, and improved the efficiency of Stored Procedures and SQL triggers.I coordinated code releases with our offshore team in India, always making sure that the releases were scheduled after market hours and with enough time to rollback before the market would open again, if any issues came up.My favorite moment: Improving the execution of a Stored Procedure down from 14 minutes to 8-10 seconds.** Team #2: Hybrid Java / C# / Excel VBA developer and business analyst.As business analyst, I spent a lot of time interacting with the users/clients either gathering requirements or providing support. This was my favorite aspect of this role because it allowed me to refine my communication skills in high-pressure situations. (Trading floors can be loud and hectic)I wrote a WPF desktop app which would take all of the day's derivative trades and automatically hedge each position. This saved traders time by automatically creating and executing their trades. The purpose of hedging is to reduce potential loss, meaning that a lot of money could be lost if the app's business logic was not correct.I maintained and supported a critical financial reporting application that could cost the bank over $1,000,000s in fines from FINRA if not reported properly.This report consisted of a Java application that would run every night, parsing a massive XML file and flag anything of interest. The output would feed a complex Excel Spreadsheet used by the Compliance team on the trading floor.I needed to make sure the report was compliant whenever FINRA would adjust regulations—so as to avoid potential hefty fines.

Part of a small team which offered web solutions/customized Wordpress blogs for Real Estate agents. Aside from creating blogs, we offered Search Engine Optimization to our clients. The team also worked with clients to create custom widgets which would give them a competitive edge over their competitors (e.g. building on top of Google Maps functionality to "draw" a shape and search for real estate within the drawn shape).The company also offered PBX solutions for other businesses.

Each summer I would work in the M.I.S. department. Two years in the Data Warehousing dept where I did some web development and some Business Analysis work.
