Leading the corporate development initiatives at DMV.org, I was responsible for the organization’s programming, internal benefit programs, hiring 25 employees, and being actively involved in high-level strategy and planning to ensure the company was making decisions that benefited people and planet, with future generations in mind. In addition, I played a key role in instilling the award-winning culture at DMV.org, which was recognized by both Entrepreneur.com and CultureIQ in 2015. The mission of DMV.org is to create healthier, happier drivers by providing automated DMV services, clear driving-related information, and committing to an integrated bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit. In 2012, I founded SCHAP University to provide organizations around the globe with an online video education-training course for those interested in learning about maximizing positive impact with international poverty alleviation work. This course taught volunteers how to implement programs and projects prior to dispatch into underdeveloped communities. In 2010, I founded SCHAP, a non-profit designed to proliferate and prove best practices in poverty alleviation. SCHAP trained groups of volunteers and interns and embarked on month long projects to Western Kenya, where we instilled effective and sustainable strategies for locals to create value and make positive changes within their communities. SCHAP also focused on empowerment work as a way to inspire community members to take their lives back, believe in progress, and make adjustments in their families and communities. One project we completed at SCHAP was the building of a school that was entirely self-managed by the community and truly sustainable. Today, the school is a hub of education for the region and boasts 12 schoolrooms, 500 students, and over 15 of teachers. In addition to this school project, we implemented community sanitation, business education, solar-power education, and computer education programs.
