Golden Circle Limited: after a short contract assignment at Nylex I joined Golden Circle Limited as Chief Financial Office in an emergency six month contract role in Brisbane Qld. At the time GCL were facing significant financial and operational issues. I became a leading member of the GCL executive leadership team. As CFO I oversaw the completion of the company’s financial results, annual budget, as well as managing the finance team, treasury and IT. Shortly after my arrival the company breeched a number of financial covenants of its newly appointed bankers. This resulted in GCL being placed in credit watch and was subject to an extensive external review by independent advisors to the bank. I managed this process and treasury negotiations for GCL during this time. At the end of my CFO contract I was appointed general manager of the Original Juice Division then moved to manage the operations of the Original Juice division of Golden Circle. This division had turnover of approximately $100 million but was in a significant loss position. Over a twelve month period I was successful in managing a team to achieve a significant profit turnaround in this business.

SPC Limited a large, a complex FMCG based in rural Victoria. I joined SPC as Chief Financial Officer and was part of a new breed of managers employed by the company to take it to its next phase in its development. Through my time at SPC the company achieved record growth and a sustained improvement in operational capability and profitability. This provided the company the opportunity to seek full ASX listing on the Australian Stock Exchange and ultimately merge with its nearest competitor. Following the merger SPC achieved a top 200 ASX listing and was ultimately acquired by Coca Cola Amatil Limited.
