Designed, enhanced, and maintained all custom systems for the AS/400 utilizing RPG ILE, 3 or 400 and CL. The companies supported by Brunswick’s I.T. department are Sea Ray, U.S. Marine, Baja and Boston Whaler. Application areas primarily supported were Kronos Time and attendance version 4.1 for AS/400 with, Oracle interfaces to AS/400, Sysgen, all aspects of materials management including MRP and BOM and help desk support. System tools and languages used are RPG, CL, FTP, query, embedded SQL, DBU, SEU, RLU, RDA, SDA, Client Access, Hawkeye, Eclipse for Websphere and source management. At least half of the time spent was developing in-house reports using RPG, RPGLE and CL languages. Other duties included clock maintenance and installation on the AS/400 side, such as setting up the communications and testing.Applied updates to the Kronos Time & Attendance software and coordinated all testing to ensure that in-house programs using the Kronos database were functioning as expected. Responsible for all support from employees for Kronos Time & Attendance.Attended all the support group lunches hosted by Kronos and was also at two of the Kronos Worldwide user conventions.

Contract job duties included working in team environments to merge multiple textile manufacturing and distribution databases and develop strategies for the project. The databases were CAMS, GFL and custom coded. Other contracts have involved maintaining CAMS inventory menus and networking time clocks to a Windows NT system utilizing VPN.

Primary job functions included Y2K strategies and organization of a 4-person team to finish and test within a deadline. All systems of the H&S warehousing and distribution software were modified. Other major projects were an upgrade to the primary database on the AS/400, where existing H&S in-house program changes were added to the upgrade from the developer and tested. This also involved extensive testing with key users from various positions throughout the company. Maintaining all AS/400 systems and evaluating user requests for modifications or new development were other responsibilities. Primary duty was design and implementation of inventory bar code tracking system using Intermec printers and conversion of legacy COBOL from IBM 9000 to AS/400 RPGILE. Enhanced BPCS database fulfilling user requests for new reports and functions. The software was used for textile manufacturing and distribution. System tools and languages used were RPG3 and RPGILE, CL, Optio DCS, Advanced Function Printer Utility (AFPU), query, open query, SQL, embedded SQL, DBU, RLU, SDA, Rumba, Client Access and source management.

Worked with a team using Micro Focus and IBM AS/400 Cobol to maintain and develop services for the textile and carpet industries. Job duties included design and implementation of new programs and custom software modifications. These were usually installed at the client’s site or through FTP. Telephone support of all products. RPG was used for interfaces into the client’s database. System tools and languages used were COBOL, RPG, CL, FTP, query, SQL, DBU, RLU, SDA, Rumba, Client Access and source management. Other job duties including network administration using Windows NT 4 and Windows Networking services.
