I will be communicatory, allowing me to be relatable to individuals on a personal yet professional level. I will encourage others and give constructive criticisms when asked for. I will speak only truth from fact and express observations as such. I will seek to uplift those around me, practicing patience, and giving myself and others with the grace to grow."I'm an aspiring legal professional seeking to advance in the field. My opportunity to intern at the Tacoma-Pierce County's Volunteer Legal Services provided opportunity to learn elements of civil procedure such as serving opposing parties and filing petitions/motions. I was exposed to working with clients to facilitate their completion of court paperwork to check for errors and misspellings. Working with attorneys and paralegals from this organization allowed me to absorb the direct and formal ways of legal writing. My 2 years’ tenure as Olympic College’s Student Government Vice President for Diversity and Equity allowed me to enhance my computer and organizing skills due to innovatively implementing programming to diminish barriers to intercultural communication and more effectively relay and enforce policies that contributed to the inclusion and equitability of students, staff, and faculty among the campus. Finally, I have been trained in practicing Cognitive/Dialectical Behavioral skills to build my emotion regulation as well as to build upon my interpersonal effectiveness skills to make me an asset to my team in times of workplace conflict and better serve the clientele I interact with.
