While executing my individual test process of the SDLC, I provided direction, technical leadership, and small group oversight to ensure that a team of QA engineers stayed on the right track through to release to market of several projects. In my leadership role, for each assigned project:• Successfully defined quality standards and metrics working with all stake holders to ensure that the quality metrics were reviewed, and agreed upon at project kick-off. • Assisted in defining Testing Strategy and Test Plan documents while scheduling milestone tasks with checkpoints and measurable criteria to check the quality on timely basis.• Ensured the team was focusing on test automation along with manual testing.• Maintained relationships between cross functional teams like development, program management, etc. • QA team point of contact for all the escalations related Quality Assurance of the assigned project. • Required to understand and define areas to calculate the overall risk to the project and create strategies to mitigate those risks. • Provided crisp and clear status to management and to all the stake holders assuring awareness of the various risks and backup plans. • Ensured that rewards were given for each successfully achieved project by the team.In my QA Engineer role, for each assigned project:• Executed the test process for assigned activities: creating/reviewing test plans and test cases, executing test cases, reporting TC execution status, collect detailed debug info for failed test cases. • Upgraded and maintained portions of the Game Hall Server environment such as the CDS, Game Host, Progressive Prize Controller, etc. as well as the Rocket Games and Titles for the System Under Test. • Executed on-site investigations and controlled testing in Chickasaw Lab and Chickasaw Casinos. • Primary resource for executing the detailed Release Process for many Rocket product releases.

Responsibilities and Duties: • Develop Test Plans and Test cases for the Quality Assurance verification for Samsung Mobile Android devices (Smart Phones, Tablets) and Tizen Wearable devices (Gear, Gear Fit) and related consumer electronic products (VR gear, Samsung Smart TVs).• Managed the Test Environments via “Flashing” phone and tablet devices and widget download to Tizen wearable devices to appropriate build versions and upload new versions of device applications for testing.• Executed Test Cases and results reporting as well as guiding a small number of contract software test engineers to analyze, verify, and evaluate Wireless Devices and Services as required.• Engaged software development teams as they complete the design process, advising and assisting them in developing and restructuring their software for efficiency and test-ability.• Maintained Test Ware in TestRail library system for efficiency and automatic report generation.• Utilized the Atlassian Tools for Agile Development (Confluence, Jira, Hip Chat, etc.) in the verification processes improving software and product delivery efficiency.• Documented process for the team including Test Case Writing, Bug Reporting guidelines and processes as well as new hire “first week” orientation documentation..

Responsibilities and Duties: • Managed a team of software test engineers to analyze, verify, and evaluate Wireless Devices and Services, predominately but not exclusively Android based platform devices, for various software R&D teams• Engaged software development teams as they complete the design process, advising and assisting them in developing and restructuring their software for efficiency and testability.• Develop Testware Suite (strategy, plan, test case, automation, reporting, etc.) and verify the testing & quality of the Wireless Devices and Services• Designed and Built the test frameworks and test automation systems including research into new GUI based test case automation development (e.g. Sikuli).• Applied known Software Process Improvement and Project Management (CMM/CMMI, ISO15504, CSQE, PMP, AGILE, etc.) techniques to improve the software deployment process.• Modified existing techniques and created new techniques and process as required to improve software and product delivery efficiency.• Assisted with Static Analysis of wireless terminals software utilizing Klocwork and C++ tools.• Assisted with identifying software licensing issues in the mixed Intellectual Property software environment via the Protex application.

Identified, analyzed, and corrected deficiencies in the Verification Process of the MCP (Multimedia Communications Portfolio -- a system of products capable of voice, video, data, conferencing, and like services over IP Networks). The Revised Product Verification processes for the MCP resulted in the development and introduction of:Utilized Quality Center application for Test Case Storage, Versioning, Requirements tracking, and results reporting.Standardized Test Case Template & Code Coverage metrics resulting in Test Case increase from 2400 to over 7000 test cases in a single software release and the first metrics for percentage code verified in the program (via McCabe tools).Implementation of Test Case Automation increasing repetitive coverage of code and decreasing regression test intervals. TC Automation accomplished via both proprietary tools (CATT) and a combination of purchased and freeware (e.g. SOAPUI) tools. Automation TCs also utilized by Designers for UT and Sanity Testing.Introduced Automated GUI TC execution for the IP Clients via WinRunner tools. Developed a separate Capacity, Traffic, and Robustness QA Team improving overall system stability and network engineering capabilities. Key troubleshooting team for resource usage issues.Created a Vulnerability Assessment QA position to stress the SUT for all existing and potential security exposure within the software. Identified security issues within the JVM, the networking software (especially port allocation vulnerability), non thread-safe processes, etc. PD/Freeware tools and Codenomicon app utilized for this activity.Outsourced some verification and tools development activities to China, Turkey, and India to reduce overall costs of MCP PV and SV to Nortel Networks. Greater than $1M US saved annually.Implemented Customer Documentation verification for MCP and inclusion of docs into CVS for document versioning.

Lead a team of three Managers and approximately 40 employees responsible for the Operations functions of the CS3K Softswitch -- an IP-capable IEC call control solution that supports SS7 trunking and IEC network voice-over-IP services, Responsibilities included Project Planning and Management of all CS3K/IMS Labs, Verification, Test Tools, & Product/Field Support departments of the organization. This entailed design, implementation, and continued maintenance of the CS3K Design, Verification, and Support lab facilities, staffing and directing the Product Verification and Integration team, directing the development of test and test automation tools, development of tools and staff for global product support, and supplying budget proposals and budget management to meet the objectives of those responsibilities. Manager H.323 Gatekeeper Development Nortel Networks (1997)Provided management of development team for the design & partial implementation of a highly distributed IP-based Multimedia (H.323) Gateway Controller. Responsibilities included input into the Gatekeeper architecture and design, integrating customer input into the product, and the development of resources, project plans, and lab facilities for the implementation, test, and support of the gatekeeper product. This project evolved into the CS3000 Softswitch (above).

Manager of Advanced Technology Project research team (as many as 15 direct reports) in the development of highly distributed ATM-based IEC Network solutions. A research (as opposed to product development) oriented project that required input to a network vision and architecture, call modeling, and developing prototypes for proof-of-concept and architecture validation, input to Systems Engineering modeling efforts, and formal demonstration/presentations to secure additional funding for project.Responsibilities also included managing Object Oriented Design (in C++, Smalltalk, and Java) on HP RT, Unix, PowerPC, and Windows NT platforms. Project Planning & Management and multi-site interworking with other ATM/Distributed Architecture groups within Nortel.Assured the appropriate disposition of all Intellectual Property generated by the activities resulting in greater than 100 patent applications in the US and other countries and over 60 patents granted.
