As a fundraising volunteer I assist The Royal British Legion with upcoming projects and also sell poppies in the Poppy Appeal period. Last year whilst at University I helped the Plymouth Branch on 'Plymouth Poppy Day' which involved organising collection buckets which were then given to members of the Armed Forces. I helped the Bristol Branch for the Poppy Appeal 2018 campaign this year and took charge of a project.Gives monthly presentations on historical battles to war veterans through the Royal British Legion.

As the owner of my own business I have achieved many things. I have achieved commercial and marketing outcomes and broadened my commercial mindset, by managing my income and also allocating some of that income to purchase new resources and products for my business. I have an appreciation of the bigger picture, as I understand how my role fits in with the local community’s needs. My responsibilities include setting up car washes in advance with my clients, fitting car washes around other commitments such as academic work, building up trust between myself and a new client, and then retaining that client, being reliable, and communicating with members of the public and the local community in a respectful way.

I was a journalist intern on three seperate occasions between July 2017 and August 2018. Placed on the sports desk, I wrote a large quantity of articles, which were then published both in the physical newspaper and also online. I gained valuable communication skills whilst working at the Bristol Post, liasing with the Sports Editor on what stories would be best to run. I also picked up important time management skills and learnt to prioritise work in a office-based environment.

Also gained knowledge about the subject of investment management and was introduced to the working of portfolio management. Organisational skills have been developed on my internship with R.C. Brown, where more than one task was received at the same time, testing the ability to prioritise work. I prepared reports whilst at R.C. Brown on stocks which involved economic analysis, which was then presented to fund managers. I contributed and cooperated in board and client meetings whilst on my internship which gave me good experience of delivering an excellent client service.
