I am a recent graduate of SFSU with a Masters in Education and credential in Social Studies. It is my objective to find full time employment as a teacher in the Fall. My goal is to become part of a team of innovative and collaborative educators intent on student centered learning and to fully immerse myself into that community.Prior to my credential training and student teaching, I had worked from 2016 to 2020 as a substitute in Palo Alto and San Francisco in kindergarten through 12th grades. I received the Substitute Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2017 from PAUSD. The classroom experience has been so rewarding that I went back to SFSU to become a credentialed teacher. As a substitute I have had the privilege to work with scores of amazing educators in many fields and the good fortune to have been asked to substitute long term on five separate assignments with the TPSL levels one and two emergency credential training. I also have great respect and admiration for those working in Special Education, and have worked extensively with SpEd students of all ages and learning differences to better understand how to provide best practices in these communities.In the future I hope to enhance my Standards Based Grading and Project Based Learning Lesson skills set, practice common core learning objectives, and incorporate many of the UDL and scaffolding techniques I have acquired in grad school. I will, as I have always done, continue to reimagine and improve upon my lessons and curriculum through collaboration with colleagues, and continued training and support from the plethore of resources available to me. My primary strength as an educator has always been my ability to connect and relate with students. I promote an active and engaging classroom atmosphere where ideas and opposing views can be shared in a safe and respectful community of learners. My goal has always been to promote the love and excitement I have for lifelong learning, the gift that was so unselfishly shared with me.
