I am currently assigned as a Field Training Officer to the Patrol Bureau working on Blue Nights Shift (2000-0600 hrs). I have been in my current position as a field training Officer for 9 months. Prior to serving as a Field Training Officer I was assigned to the Patrol Bureau as a Patrol Officer and have served as such since October of 2016 when I completed Field Training. In my first year as a Police Officer I received; (2) Ribbons of Commendable Performance, and (1) Ribbon of Life Saving. I was also the runner-up for the 2016 Rookie of the Year Award. I am a POST Certified Peace Officer, gaining my State Certification in April of 2016. My State POST ID number is 65645.I attended the Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) through the University of Missouri Extension from January 2016 through April of 2016, gaining 600 hours towards POST.Prior to being employed by the City of Columbia and attending LETI, I was a 911 Dispatcher with Joint Emergency Communications Center in Iowa City, Iowa. I served as a certified quality assurance Officer for our computer aided dispatching protocol. I also served as a training officer for new dispatchers.From 2007 until 2010, and again from 2013 until 2015, I served as a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office (Iowa City,IA). During my time I became weapon's and patrol qualified and assisted in training new Reserve Deputies. I began coaching High School football in 2001. I started as a 7th grade football coach at South East Junior High (Iowa City, IA). In 2008 I accepted the Head Junior Varsity Coaching position at Regina High School (Iowa City,IA). I served as the Head Junior Varsity Coach, and assistant Varsity Coach through the 2012 football season. I was a member of three State Championship coaching staffs (2010, 2011, 2012)In 2013 I accepted the Head Freshman football coaching position at Clear Creak Amana High School (Tiffin, IA).
