SRT officers are members of a tight-knit team, highly trained in special weapons and tactics (SWAT). Responsibilities of the SRT include emergency situations such as hostage and victim rescue, terrorist aggression, workplace violence, active shooter, hostage negotiation, and sniper/counter sniper operations. Additional patrol, criminal investigation, and Astronaut/VIP protection duties are assigned. Each officer is required to operate as a member of an organized SRT with the goal of supporting emergency response operations. After passing the required FLETC accredited NASA Federal Arrest Authority and, if necessary, an additional Federal Magistrate Program Training, the officer will function as a law enforcement officer and have arrest and apprehension authority. Further SWAT, advanced SWAT, precision marksman, and Law Enforcement instructional duties.

For base dining facility servicing 800+ personnel, ordered and maintained all supplies, food, and equipment required for 24/7 operations. Responsible for strictly controlling the inventory to eliminate overages, spoilage and waste. Coordinated with other facilities to ensure necessary supplies were delivered when military base operations prevented the delivery of scheduled shipments, keeping the dining facility stocked for personnel unable to leave base. Maintained basic soldier tasks assigned while in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
