A native of Shawnee, Oklahoma, I joined the Navy in 1999 as an Electronics Technician and commissioned as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in 2010. I conducted my first sea tour and qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist onboard a frigate in the early 2000's, and deployed as a Communications, Computers, and Intelligence Technician in the late 2000s. I was a SCUBA Diver, Submarine Warfare Officer, Small Boat and Surface Support Vessel Officer in Charge, and a mini submarine Pilot. I retired from naval service as the Technical Lead for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I served as the Technical Director for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for the D.C. based startup Spear AI. I currently work as a Freelance Data Scientist. Education credentials consist of a Bachelor of Science - Computer Science from Old Dominion University, a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. I'm currently a Naval Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology Scholar pursuing a Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Connecticut. Research interests include acoustic signal processing, artificial intelligence, and optimization.
