Operations Coordinator
Communication with all stakeholders is one of the key aspects of the Operations Coordinator Role at Bulk Berth Shipping to ensure smooth discharge and loading of raw materials as well as ensuring our key customers have appropriate ground stocks to continue to successfully operate their plant. Strategic Operations and Planning is used when scheduling our incoming ships, maintenance and operations tasks to minimize stoppages and demurrage costs and maximize berth utilization and equipment availability. Utilizing my background in Automation, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering provides a platform to implement innovative digital transformation technologies to the current operations model, replacing repetitive tasks with automation and representing operations data in a streamlined, informative manner. It also allows me to bridge the gap between Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to facilitate the continuing drive for machine automation and progression in the department. Providing coverage for Shift Team Leaders empowers leadership opportunities to guide and develop the diverse, experienced team of operators to continue to excel in their work.
Automation Engineer
Currently involved in the development and implementation of a new ABB HMI graphics package project for a large plant area. This is to be followed by the design and installation of a new ABB DCS Control System back end to be installed in the same large plant area.
Reliability And Improvement Engineer
My current role at BlueScope is working as a Reliability and Improvement Engineer in the Gas Processing Department. This is a Services Department of BlueScope's Port Kembla Steelworks. The departments main role is to treat and process the gas from the coke ovens so that it can be redistributed and utilised by other departments around the steel works. A consequence of the process is useful by-products are also obtained. One of the key challenges of this department is that it is continuously running due to the reliance on it by many of the departments across the steelworks that utilise the processed gas. This means that equipment availability at all times is essential so each system requires a well maintained back-up in the event of equipment failure. Due to the high risk nature of gas systems, the equipment also needs to be maintained to a high standard for safety purposes. Position responsibilities:• Analysing asset performance and providing feedback to maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and maintenance costs• Investigating failures in asset performance to determine root cause and put in place corrective measures• Deliver continuous improvement outcomes in the supply of maintenance• Identification of process critical equipment and the continuing development and monitoring of the equipment’s asset strategies and maintenance plans.
