I've lived the rough and tumble life of an entrepreneur. My success is in my ability to survive and to arise to try again. I know how to survive and can help your farm or business navigate bad times to arise again. I've been working in agriculture and construction my whole working life. On the sustainable side of agriculture for more than fifteen years now. Or, the term I currently prefer: "Regenerative Agriculture". Most of our soils are so degraded that it's not enough to merely maintain them. We need to rebuild them. I was fortunate enough to come up under the tutelage of the late Terry Gompert who was an expert in the field of grazing management. He brought numerous experts into speak to small groups in our little corner of Nebraska including Allan Nation of "The Stockman Grass Farmer" and Allan Savory of "Holistic Resource Management" and "The Savory Center". I've been fortunate to learn from each of these men in person and through their writings. While my focus is almost entire on sustainable/regenerative agriculture, both in regards to our own farm but also towards policy, we also maintain a small construction business doing some local work. This was the family business at one time and a full fledged lumber yard with 2 locations at that. At present we are specialized in procuring and selling specialty lumbers. Principally reclaimed lumber and lumber from local timber along with unique one off pieces.We are interested in dealership opportunities both in building materials and with equipment.

This was an unpaid volunteer position. As president I worked close to full time. As a board member my workload varied. I came into the organization with the goal of redirecting it's focus towards rural Nebraska. At the time I joined the board the organization was financially insolvent. Several board members wanted to shut the organization down due to finances. I pushed to keep the organization going. Through cost cutting and frugality we were able to do so. As the organization stabilized the board wanted to go a different direction from the direction I thought we should be going so I parted ways with the organization. They are still using a website domain name that I came up with as well as a mission statement that was largely my creation. I can't take too much credit for the mission statement. It echoed what the mission statement had been some 20 years before.
