So much of my time in the Cannabis industry has been spent starting or rehabbing cultivation facilities. To do so it takes a lot of time and dedication to identify and address of the challenges that one faces when doing so. That being said, the most important quality that I have found in myself that has lead to much of my success, not only in this industry but throughout my career, has been the ability to work with others and lead. No one person can say that they are responsible for the success of a company, it takes someone to point the ship in a direction, of course, but the entire crew has to get on board and that takes a leader to do so. I have always believed in leading by example, 'getting in the trenches' with fellow staff members as well as the 'teach not tell' approach to training.Of course, one can not always be 'in the trenches' but displaying this willingness to do so to team members is imperative to a managers overall success. I feel as though that I possess the ability to jump from leader, to team member to student, and working within such a large company as Curaleaf has refined my ability to do so.I firmly believe that the Amargosa Valley acquisition project and The Dalles start up project were both successes due to this method of management that I adhere to.Many say that a year in the Cannabis industry is like 5 in any other. I couldn't agree more as this is a fast paced start up industry with the every changing Rules and Regulations of each state, how these rules/regs delineate how we operate/grow, not to mention the scale that I have worked at. My experience with CL has taught me so much as I have been exposed to not only the challenges that we faced together within the states in which I was located, but also across the nation. Working with the CL National team has been a fantastic experience and provided me with significant growth as an individual. Whether it be Cannabis, Custom Carpentry or Hand Thrown Pottery, most of my career I have been a producer/creator of something, and I have always taken great pride in being able to do so. Being a creator allows me to look beyond the desire of simply managing production, rather it is a driving force of my desire to want provide a top quality product, whatever it may be, to my customers. Having been fortunate enough to be in leadership positions in jobs where we do produce a product, has allowed me the ability to work with, teach and instill this energy I have to my team. I have been told throughout my career by my superiors, that this is what sets me apart from others.
