Monitors, controls, and insures the 24 hour/day, 7 day/week availability of the electric system during both normal and emergency conditions, in a safe, reliable, and economic manner.On a continuous basis, monitors and evaluates system conditions, anticipates problems and implements strategies to avoid problems and react to system conditions.Acquires and disseminates information, notifies the various State Agencies, Department of Energy (DOE), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Reliability Council (NERC), and other government and regulatory bodies, as well as Company management, in matters concerning major system disturbances, emergency conditions, and other events affecting public health, safety, and welfare.Plans and directs switching and tagging for office and field personnel in the operation and restoration of the power delivery system.Records, logs, and maintains accurate records of power system operation.Directs and supports Dispatch personnel in performing customer restoration and service activities.Directs and supports Dispatch personnel in validating Outage Management System (OMS) predictions and maintains the OMS model to reflect real-time system conditions.May participate in the training and development of regional operations systems personnel as assigned.Keeps up-to-date with technology and development by participating in various training opportunities.Maintains accreditation and certification as required by the Company, PJM, and other regulatory bodies

Coordinate with System Operators, Gas Distribution Controllers, Service Department Supervisors and Personnel Trouble Department, Line Department and Customer Service Representatives regarding outages, scheduled service work, order entry questions and redirection of requests for peripheral departments.Maintain working knowledge of call-out procedures for the Primary and Secondary on call Servicemen for off hour’s emergencies.Predict, organize, dispatch, and coordinate area electrical outages and appointments for the New Castle and North East regions.Organize, adjust and distribute service requests and trouble tickets for Service Dept, Line Dept, Trouble Dept, Pipefitting, Miss Utility, and Meter reading. Service requests and trouble tickets include gas leaks, utility marking and repair, streetlight replacement, pipefitting jobs part service, no lights meter investigations, service level guarantee time codes etc...Maintain availability for 24-hour storm restoration and pre-scheduled overtime.Research and contact customers via phone and mail for scheduling periodic test meter exchanges.Train new department employees on general procedures, dispatch techniques, Windows XP Professional, Resource Management Systems, Advantex Dispatch Application, Advantex System Administrator Application, Navigator, OMS/GIS System, Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Excel, Customer Information Databases CIS and C3.
