In this role, I work on site conservation policy in Northern Ireland, focusing on the identification of terrestrial and marine areas that should be protected through international, national and local site protection legislation. I also advocate for their designation at the appropriate level and the implementation of policies to secure their protection, appropriate management, and monitoring. I provide specialist advice in relation to complex casework and advice in relation to the interaction of site policy with other key policy areas.

In this role, I developed and delivered major public-facing campaigns to create political change in the areas of environmental protection and conservation, specifically focusing on Brexit. Using a variety of media including print, websites, and social media, I engaged with political figures and developed public support toward policy change. I also produced and hosted a podcast to support the work of the campaigns and was involved as a researcher in a new movement building campaign resource for community-led organizers and groups.

In this role, I developed public-facing fundraising campaigns and raised over £50,000 during an 18-month period, improving the public image and finances of the charity. I created and maintained corporate partnerships with professional bodies and large companies and managed several brands at once.

Dublin

Starting in January 2015, I spent 16 months managing an Arts Council Ireland opera project about the life of the Irish revolutionary Roger Casement. I acted as composer and librettist as well as organizing and managing workshops and performances throughout the period. I also liaised with producers, and ran workshops throughout that time, hugely developing my creative, administrative and project management skills.

Nottingham

In 2011, I co-founded a new Amnesty International local group with Matthew Sherwood in Nottingham. When I moved to Nottingham, a city I only lived in for 6 months, I was surprised to find that there was no Amnesty group in the city centre and so decided to found a new group with a friend.I was the campaigns manager, although in reality covered several roles at the beginning. In my short time there we managed to create a new group from nothing, having a launch event in an art gallery which was attended by over 60 people. To promote the group I wrote press releases, canvassed on the streets, and appeared on local radio. We created healthy relationships with a variety of volunteers and local venues/organisations.

Carrying out significant in-depth research into historian and journalist Cyril Falls, to assist Mr Anderson in the writing of a biography of Falls.I spent many months trawling the vast digital and microfilm archives of the British Library to find primary research material on Falls, much of which was poorly (if at all) catalogued.I collected, catalogued, and collated swathes of material for Mr Anderson and assisted in the processing and digesting of this material.
