I have been developing, managing, and consulting in the software industry for over twenty years and one of the core principles that I continue to learn is that our ability to comprehend success/failure is founded on our ability to comprehend relationships; the relationship we have with ourselves, the relationships we have with others, the relationships we have with environment and technology, our relationship to what is conceivable. Our ability to place attention on a task/goal, to see the “hows”, “wheres”, “whys”, etc. of that task/goal, to comprehend the relationships that inform us as to what can be engineered and how success/failure is understood is truly exciting. I have thrived in this space by:– Helping companies/teams establish a firm technological footing by leveraging industry standards and continuous integration processes: team/individual programming strategies, code management (nomenclature, structure, control, review), quality assurance and documentation life cycle management.– Facilitating inter-team/department culture that recognizes individual and group cooperative value by leveraging applied interdisciplinary techniques including: cultural analysis, social psychology, and awareness strategies. Specifically, fostering social and technological relationships between Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service that inform each to the value of those relationships, the value of the product/service life cycle, and the ownership of commercial success.– Designing and implementing custom business software in service of the aforementioned including: cohesive interactive reporting HUDs, sales/application training systems, and quality assurance/customer service management and feedback software.
